Privacy notice: ordering from Cafe De Bella

Who is responsible for your data

Cafe De Bella, 189 Sheffield Road, Killamarsh, S21 1DX (+44 2086687593) decides why and how your details are used. In data protection terms it is the “controller”.

The ordering service is run by Ordivo. It looks after your details on Cafe De Bella's behalf and only for the purposes below (a “processor”).

What we collect

• Your name, telephone number and e-mail address.
• For delivery: your address and, if you place the pin, the point on the map.
• What you ordered, any notes you wrote (for example about allergies), the time, and how you chose to pay.
• If you pay online: the payment is made on the secure page of Stripe or PayPal. We never see or store your card number; we only receive confirmation that you paid and a payment reference.
• Whether you ticked the box to receive offers by e-mail, and when.
• Basic technical records (such as your IP address and browser) that every website keeps for security and to find faults.

Why we use it, and our legal reason

• To take, prepare and deliver your order, and to tell you about it by e-mail or telephone (for example “accepted”, “ready”, or a problem). Reason: it is needed to carry out your order (contract).
• To refund you if an online payment cannot be turned into an order. Reason: contract.
• To keep records for the restaurant's accounts and tax. Reason: legal obligation.
• To keep the service secure and prevent fraud or misuse. Reason: legitimate interests.
• To send you offers by e-mail, only if you ticked the box. Reason: your consent. You can withdraw it at any time with the “unsubscribe” link in every offer e-mail. This does not stop e-mails about an order you placed.

We do not use your details for automated decisions about you, and we do not sell them.

Who else sees it

• Cafe De Bella's staff, and its delivery drivers where your order is delivered.
• Ordivo, which runs this ordering service, and the companies that help it run it (hosting, e-mail delivery).
• Stripe or PayPal, if you pay online. They are responsible for your card details under their own privacy notices.
• Public authorities, if the law requires it.

Some of these companies may process data outside the UK. When they do, it is protected by the safeguards the law requires.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as Cafe De Bella needs them for its accounts and tax records (normally up to 6 years in the UK). Your e-mail address stays on the offers list until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed. You can ask Cafe De Bella to delete or anonymise your contact details sooner; some order information may have to stay, without your name, for the records.

Your rights

You can ask Cafe De Bella to show you the details held about you, correct them, delete them, limit their use, send them to you in a portable form, or stop using them. You can withdraw your consent to offers at any time. To use a right, contact Cafe De Bella (+44 2086687593); we will answer within one month.

If you are unhappy with how your details are handled you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113). We would like the chance to put things right first.

Cookies and similar storage

This website only uses what it needs to work: it remembers your basket, your chosen language and your latest order (so you can follow its progress) in your browser. There are no advertising or tracking cookies. The payment pages of Stripe and PayPal use their own cookies, described in their notices. You can clear this storage at any time in your browser settings.

The app and notifications

If you add Cafe De Bella to your phone's home screen and allow notifications, we keep a random device code and your notification address so we can tell you when your order is ready, on its way or cancelled, and (only if you allowed notifications) about offers from Cafe De Bella. We also count that the app is installed. We do not collect your name, number or location this way. You can switch notifications off in the app or in your phone's settings, and remove the app from your phone at any time.

Refunds for online payments

If you pay online and Cafe De Bella rejects your order, or does not answer in time, your payment is refunded automatically to the card or PayPal account you used. It normally appears within a few working days.

Changes

If we change this notice in a way that matters to you we will update the date above.
